CALLING ALL GURDWARAS
GOVERNMENT PLACES OF WORSHIP (POW) PROTECTIVE SECURITY FUNDING SCHEME NOW OPEN
The Home Office has announced that the fourth round of the Places of Worship (POW) Protective Security Funding Scheme for religious buildings is open.
As part of the 2018 Hate Crime Action Plan, Home Office funding of £1.6M is available to install or improve security measures such as protective alarms, security lighting, access controls, CCTV, fencing and/or railings, gates, doors, windows, alarms, locks, access control, intercom systems and lighting.
Gurdwaras, Churches, Mosques, Mandirs and associated faith community centres can apply for a security grant up to a maximum of £56,000 for these measures. They must be registered charities, contribute 20% of the cost and show vulnerability to hate crime.
Applications are open until 31 August 2019.
